Dr. Justin Yu is a board-certified physician-researcher in Pediatrics, Internal-Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. He works with the Supportive Care team at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
Dr. Yu’s research program aims to improve the health and well-being of children with medical complexity and their family caregivers. His work to date has focused on improving our understanding of (1) family caregivers’ perceptions about the quality of their children’s care, and (2) the physical and emotional well-being of family caregivers. For his current career development award, he is collaborating with an advisory board of family caregivers to develop and test a psychological intervention aiming to enhance caregivers’ sense of meaning and ability to manage stressful challenges.
